Hi there! I'm Úna Méabh (all one name), the creative force behind Connect The Dots Design; a Belfast based business where Irish language and delightful design come together to create something truly special.

Our Colourful Journey

What started as a doodle-sharing passion project back in 2017 has blossomed into a vibrant celebration of Irish language. When I couldn't find a modern, cute and colourful Irish wedding card, I thought, "Why not make it myself?" That's been my motto ever since!

From a single card back in 2017 to a rainbow of greeting cards, art prints, stationery and gifts, I've experienced the most amazing business growth. I took a big leap and huge risk at the end of 2020 and left my teaching job to pour my heart and soul into Connect The Dots Design. The risk paid off and now I go to work in my actual dream job everyday.

I say 'we' and 'our' a lot but there's only me...right now. The dream is to build a team and create jobs in the near future and I'm excited to see where that leads to.

What We're All About

We're on a mission to spread joy and the Irish language in the most colourful way possible making it accessible and fun for the modern Gaeilgeoir. Every product we create is designed to bring a smile to your face and giota beag gaeilge to your everyday life.

We also have a whole lot of grá for being green. Our greeting cards and stationery items are 100% plastic free - no cello bags, no stickers, just gorgeous products. We're all about reduce, reuse, and recycle too: reusing all packaging materials and shipping our wholesale orders in pre-loved boxes!

Our Proudest Moments

The past few years have flown by but we're super proud to say we've done some pretty amazing things:

  • Our Irish language GIFs stickers have been used over 200 million times! If you lined up everyone who's used them, they'd wrap around the world twice! Search 'doodlesbyum' to add them to your Instagram, Tiktok and Snapchat
  • We created the iconic Dáithí Mac Gabhann character for the Donate 4 Dáithí, Yes I Donate Organ Donation campaign, which has appeared everywhere from billboards to sports jerseys and even tattoos!
  • Our products are brightening up hundreds of classrooms across the country through our donations to schools.
  • We've designed GIF stickers for nationwide social media campaigns for Foras na Gaeilge (#LeChéile), An Dream Dearg, An Lá Dearg 2022 (#AchtAnois) and for The Marino Institute of Education.
  • Since 2020 our Irish language stationery has helped over 10,000 people bring more Gaeilge into their daily lives.
  • Bronnadh 3 bhonn óir orainn ag Gradaim Gnó na hÉireann. We were thrilled to acheive triple gold and the highest possible level of commendation for our signage, branding & marketing, and service in Irish at the Gradaim Gnó awards in November 2023.
  • We had more cause for celebration in June 2024 after being selected as 'Entrepreneur of the year' at Belfast Media Group's Best of The West awards.
